The 2026 Winter Olympics continue Saturday with medal events in Alpine skiing, biathlon, cross country skiing, skeleton, snowboarding, and speed skating.

Of the 16 sports at the Winter Olympics, drones have captured footage in all but hockey, curling, short-track speed skating and figure skating, where the organizers felt traditional cameras, including overhead cameras that move on cables, were a better fit.

Until Friday, the American women had never beaten Canada -- a perennial favorite that has medaled in every Winter Games since curling was added to the Olympics in 1998. The U.S. men beat the Canadians for the first time in the 2018 round-robin and again in the semifinals en route to their gold medal victory in Pyeongchang.

Sidney Crosby has scored an Olympic goal for the first time in 12 years. Crosby scored on Friday in the third period of Team Canada’s 5-1 preliminary round win over Switzerland in Milan. The tally helped Canada improve to 2-0 following Thursday’s 5-0 win over Czechia.
